Born in St Albans, England, in 1936, Kim Brooks studied at St Albans College of Art before embarking on an extraordinary artistic career spanning more than five decades. Her extensive travels have taken her to some of the world’s most remote and exotic regions, from the African wilderness to the Amazon rainforest, allowing her to study animals in their natural habitats. These experiences, combined with her detailed knowledge of animal anatomy, give her paintings and sculptures an authenticity that has earned admiration from collectors worldwide.

Recognised as one of the pioneers who helped establish wildlife art as a respected fine art genre, Kim has exhibited internationally since her first solo exhibition in London’s Bond Street in 1972. Her work has been showcased across Europe, the United States, Africa, and beyond, while her paintings have featured on the catalogues of Christie’s and Sotheby’s, consistently achieving outstanding auction results.

Kim’s distinguished career includes winning the Gold Award at the Wildlife Artist International Exhibition in Phoenix, Arizona, in 1979 and representing England at the World Wilderness Congress in South Africa the following year. Her artistic journey is documented in her book Africa to the Amazon: The Art & Travels of Kim Brooks.
